Housing and Cost of Living
Every person deserves safe and affordable housing. Brian supports policies that expand affordable housing, prevent unnecessary foreclosures and evictions, and ensure that housing costs do not consume an unreasonable share of family income. Strong communities are built when people have stable homes and secure neighborhoods
Education
Education is the foundation of opportunity and democracy. Brian supports a fully funded public education system from early childhood through college. He supports tuition-free public education and student debt relief, ensuring that young people can pursue their education without being burdened by lifelong debt. Teachers and schools must receive the resources and respect they deserve.
Transportation and Infrastructure
Expanding transit infrastructure to keep pace with rapid suburban and urban growth remains a persistent challenge for both commuters and local policy makers. Brian knows this is a priority to the citizens of Raleigh and the surrounding area so we can stay connected for work and play.
Democracy and Political Reform
Our democracy must work for the people. Brian supports reforms that strengthen voting rights, expand democratic participation, and reduce the influence of money in politics. Every voter should have equal access to the ballot, and elections should reflect the will of the people rather than the influence of wealthy donors. A functioning democracy requires transparency, accountability, and active participation.
Healthcare
Healthcare should be a human right. Too many families across North Carolina struggle with rising insurance costs, medical debt, and limited access to care. Brian supports a single-payer Medicare for All system that guarantees quality healthcare for every person. A healthcare system should prioritize patients and communities rather than corporate profits.
Real Financial Reform
The economy should serve working people, not Wall Street. Brian supports reforms that reduce the influence of large financial institutions over the economy. This includes breaking up banks that are “too big to fail,” regulating financial speculation, and expanding public banking options that support local communities. The financial system should support productive economic activity rather than speculation and corporate concentration.
Economic Justice and Good Jobs
Every person deserves the opportunity to work and earn a living wage. Brian supports the Green New Deal’s vision of an Economic Bill of Rights, ensuring that all Americans have access to meaningful employment, fair wages, safe workplaces, and the ability to organize in unions without fear of retaliation. He believes government should prioritize local economies, small businesses, and worker-owned enterprises so that the wealth created by communities stays within those communities.
Veterans
America has a responsibility to care for those who served. As a Marine veteran, Brian understands the challenges many veterans face when returning home. He supports expanding healthcare services, strengthening mental health support, and improving employment opportunities for veterans and their families. Veterans deserve real support, not just words of appreciation.
Peace and Foreign Policy
Brian understands the cost of war because he has served in it. As a Marine who deployed during the invasion of Iraq, he believes military action should always be a last resort. The United States must prioritize diplomacy, cooperation, and peaceful solutions to international conflicts. He also supports reducing excessive military spending and investing those resources in strengthening communities at home.
