How to write in Brian McGinnis
Brian's name is not printed on the ballot. Voting for him takes one filled-in oval and two words.

Three steps
In the contest for US House of Representatives District 2, fill in the oval beside the write-in line and print Brian McGinnis.
Do both. A name with no filled-in oval may not be counted. Print clearly, and don't mark any other candidate in that contest.

Find the race
On your ballot, look for US House of Representatives District 2.
Fill in the oval
Completely fill in the oval next to the Write-in line. Without the oval, the vote may not count.
Write his name

Before you go
Check that you live in District 2. Look up your registration and sample ballot with the State Board of Elections. If your ballot lists US House District 2, you can write in Brian.
Bring a photo ID. North Carolina asks voters to show photo ID. A driver's license, passport, or free ID from your county board of elections works.
Vote early if you can. During early voting you can use any site in your county, and you can register and vote the same day.
Voting by mail? The write-in works the same way on an absentee ballot: fill in the oval, print the name.
Now pass it on. Nobody will see Brian's name on the ballot, so every vote starts with someone like you explaining how. Send this page to five people in the district.
